#4: Donna Noble- Doctor Who
Donna Noble. There is so much to say about this marvelous companion, so I’ll do a walk through of her stay. When she met him, she was not frightened or in awe, she was irritated—well, see how you liked getting zapped away in the midst of your wedding! The woman has a real mind of her own. She has goals and dreams that she is determined to reach an no alien with a mad blue box that’s bigger on the inside is gonna change that. No alien is. The woman will not be stopped.
In the midst of the crazy adventure that is to be her wedding day, she takes time to understand this mad alien that’s helping her. She isn’t disturbed or in awe of this man, she isn’t instantly attracted to him like so many others, no, she finds him scrawny, if a bit mad but she is kind to him. The amazing thing about her, that even though her life is now turned upside down on what should have been her wedding day, she sees hurt in this man/alien. She sees right through him, sees how destructive his pain is because of this loss he sustained and…she pities him. She saves his life, when he would have stayed to die because he didn’t have Rose anymore and she told him honestly that he needed someone, anyone to stop him when he goes to far. someone who could help keep him in line and keep him from hurting himself. She knew him less than a day and she saw that.
She turned down a chance to follow him but went quickly to work to solve a mystery and to find him. And when they were together, it was not romance or sadness, it was friendship. She held his hand and made him see the damage he was causing and saved him again and again keeping him on a human level. She helped him recover. She called him on his shit and she didn’t take orders. She was a friend and she was selfless. She had so much heart and yet did not see herself as significant despite all the attitude she had.
I cannot stress my love for this woman enough.
I must also give so much credit to the brilliant Catherine Tate. She is gorgeous, has spunk, and personality; i love everything about her and she made Donna just as amazing.
